Who is Jaxz?

Let’s begin with the obvious – Jaxz is a pseudonym. I use it as a simple way to classify an artistic aspect of what makes me. And although one can never absolutely divide the various characteristics of what makes the whole of someone into clean, precise departments, I do this little act of identification to help me focus on what I want to achieve through this aspect of myself.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been an observer, an analyzer, and, dare I say, a judge of the world around me. My fascination with form and function, color and texture, the aesthetics and their relationship to composition in all things observable, both natural and manufactured, have routinely drawn my attention. I have tried to understand why something seems attractive, beautiful, relevant, and valuable to me instead of those that do not. I could write a book on the hierarchy of value as to why people make choices regarding what attracts their attention and what they deem valuable, but I’ll leave that for another time and place.

For now, my only hope is to express to the world in what I do here a small sampling of what I see, admire, and value in what the world has shown me.
